Glacier Ice Fisher — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

The short version: Glacier Ice Fisher does not require an account and does not collect, sell, or share your personal information. Everything you create in the app — your profile, catches, hotspots, gear, and settings — is stored only on your device. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application Glacier Ice Fisher (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information. By using the App you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information stored on your device

The App is designed to work entirely on your device. The following information you enter is saved locally in the App’s private storage and is not transmitted to us:

Because this data lives only on your device, we have no access to it and cannot recover it if you delete the App.

3. Camera and photo library

With your permission, the App can access your camera or photo library so you can set a profile picture. The selected image is stored on your device only and is never uploaded to us or shared with third parties. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device’s Settings.

4. Location

With your permission, the App uses your device location while you are using the App to center the map and to let you drop and save fishing hotspots. Coordinates you save are stored locally on your device. We do not track your location in the background and we do not send your location history to our servers. You can decline or revoke location access at any time in your device’s Settings.

5. Weather forecasts

To show live conditions and a fishing forecast, the App requests weather data from Open-Meteo, a third-party weather service. To retrieve a forecast, the App sends an approximate latitude and longitude (either the default fishing region or your current location, if you have granted access) to Open-Meteo. No name, account, device identifier, or other personal identifier is sent. Open-Meteo’s handling of requests is governed by its own terms and privacy practices.

6. Third-party web content

The App includes an in-app reader that displays public reference pages (such as encyclopedia articles) from third-party websites. When you open these pages, the relevant website may receive standard request information (such as your IP address) as it would in any web browser. These websites are operated independently and are subject to their own privacy policies.

7. What we do not do

8. Data retention and deletion

Your information remains on your device until you remove it. You can erase your in-app data at any time using Settings → Reset All Progress, and deleting the App from your device permanently removes all locally stored data.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, no such information about children is gathered by us.

10. Security

Information you create is stored within the App’s sandboxed storage on your device, protected by your device’s operating system. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but because we do not collect or hold your data on our own servers, the risk of a server-side breach of your information does not apply.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in an updated version of the App and this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
